Youth Creative Connect: A fantastic opportunity for young people to showcase their artwork
Thanet-based young people were invited to bring and showcase their creative work at a networking event for the creative community in Ramsgate during Easter weekend.
Funded as a Pride in Place ‘Bring It to Life’ project, the event was open to the whole creative community, with 16-24 year-olds invited to show their work and feature in a film.
The film, including interviews from the will be displayed at a showcase day in Ramsgate Town Centre on Sunday 19 April 2026. This event ran as part of the town’s upcoming St George’s Day Spring Parade and launches the town’s ten-year Pride in Place journey.
The networking event was held at Ramsgate Space in Charlotte Court, bringing young creatives into a shared space, creating new connections, providing peer support and opening potential routes into work.
The event was organised by young people on the Creative Catalyst Thanet programme, supported by Remixd and Co-relate. The event, filming, and marketing were all handled by young people on the programme in an effort to create an event and film that reflects the experiences of local young people.
Co-relate Apprentice James Bonthron said: “It’s not often that young artists get to go to a networking event just for them, or get to take part in a filming project, near Ramsgate Harbour. I’ve seen some of the great artwork from people on Creative Catalyst Thanet, and I look forward to seeing even more showcased at the event!”.
We had some fantastic creatives attend and showcase their work, and we can't wait for the film to be show at the end of this week.
You can watch the film at the St George's Parade on 19 April. All creative projects as part of the parade will be shown from 2pm onwards.
We hope to see you there!
