Young people in Thanet now have a new way to gain experience with green skills and careers thanks to funding from Thanet District Council through the UK Social Partnership Fund (UKSPF).

The new programme follows on from the success of Creative Catalyst Thanet, which connects young people with paid and unpaid work experience in Thanet's creative sector.

Green Catalyst provides paid and unpaid placements for the growing number of green jobs in the district. 

The first placements on offer include:

• Upcycled fashion assistant with Waste Will Save Us, Margate - this position has been filled.
• Carbon mitigation officer with Heritage Lab, Ramsgate - this position is currently open. See the job description and apply now for a January 2026 start.
• Community food grower and veg bag assistant with Windmill Community Gardens, Margate - this position is currently open. See the job description and apply now for a January 2026 start.
